EvilLyrics is a small and handy tool that displays lyrics for the song you are listening to on your music player. It is compatible with Winamp, Windows Media Player, iTunes, and other popular audio players. As soon as you open your music player, the program will look for the lyrics of your current song using powerful search engines like Google, Altavista or Alltheweb. It works with a system of built-in filters that parse data on music files on an “artist – title” basis, that's why it is recommended that your audio files have the correct information. If the search results match the data of the song, the program will download the file and display the lyrics in the lyrics pane (this process does not take more than a couple of seconds). It has two search modes, one automatic, that is the one described above, and the other manual, allowing you to use the tool as a lyrics browser by entering the song title and the artist.
Besides its main function, it includes other interesting options like a karaoke mode, that downloads lyrics in .kas files which are already synchronized with a song, and also allows you to install third-party plug-ins for extra functionalities.
The interface is a rather basic in appearance, probably a bit dull, and unfortunately does not support skins. The only customization allowed is changing the font and color of the lyrics, and the background color of the lyrics pane.
Except for Winamp, RealPlayer, and iTunes, the other players require specific install procedures to make this tool work. I’ve tried it with Winamp, and it turned out to work flawlessly, and very fast.
